can be seen as Fanchette in the (re:) Directions Theatre Company's production of "Figaro/Figaro".
The
New
York Times called the original Yale Rep production "One of the more provocative productions to be seen in the last days
of 1994...a project that deserves more productions. It's full of rich possibilities."
An adaptation of
Beaumarchais' The Marriage of Figaro and Odon van Horvath's Figaro Gets a Divorce by Eric Overmyer, who penned the
modern classic On the Verge as well as doing double duty as a writer/producer on a number of television shows including Law
& Order, The Wire and Homicide: Life on the Street.
Figaro/Figaro follows both the familiar tale of "Marraige"
with a sleek new adaptation and then takes us into uncharted territory with the presentation of "Divorce" - a little
known sequel penned in the 1930's. Weaving in the music from the iconic operas, (re:) Directions' production takes
us on a journey to the familiar and strange, all the while telling a wonderful story of these beloved characters and how their
relationships with each other form, grow and evolve over time.
